About Us
“Where Young Explorers Learn to Speak the World”
At Adelaide Petit, we believe language is more than words, it’s connection, culture, and confidence.
We are a multicultural, multilingual family with roots and connections across the globe—from the Caribbean to Africa, and North and South America. In our home, language is part of everyday life, and that diversity is at the heart of everything we create.
Adelaide Petit was built to help children experience that same sense of curiosity, connection, and global exploration; through engaging, interactive learning experiences designed for today’s families.

Monaé
Curious, bold and always the first to say hello in a new language.
Loves fashion — and the stories behind it. She studies what people wear and why, from Haitian karabela dresses to Korean hanbok, because style carries a culture's history.
Maestro
Keeper of the Adventure Passport and collector of every stamp.
Loves music from every culture. Drums, strings, street singers or church choirs — if a country has a rhythm, Maestro learns it and plays it back.
Ace the Explorer
A Golden Syrian hamster with a safari hat and a very big sense of direction.
Loves food and has an enormous appetite to match his uncanny sense of direction. He can sniff out the best market stall in any city — and always finds the way home.
Our Story
Our journey began with our children’s love for language.
Like many children, they were drawn to language-based apps and interactive learning, especially in French. But as parents, we wanted to create something that extended beyond the screen while still keeping that same sense of excitement and engagement.
Our immediate and extended families speak Haitian Creole, French, Spanish, and English, and with relatives and lived experiences spanning countries like Haiti, Nigeria, and regions of South America, we’ve seen how language connects people across cultures.
Many of our books are inspired by real-life experiences—our travels, our heritage, and the stories shared across our family.
We’ve also seen the gaps:
- Young ESL learners without engaging, age-appropriate tools
- Limited cultural and language representation beyond a few dominant languages
- Families looking for meaningful ways to reduce screen time without removing learning opportunities
So we created Adelaide Petit—to bring together language, culture, play, and modern learning tools in one place.
Our Mission
To help children and families connect through language and culture using engaging learning experiences that combine creativity, play, and real-world connection.

Wingspan Pilots
Every great journey begins with people who help us soar.
At Adelaide Petit, our Wingspan Pilots are the mentors, family members, educators, community leaders, artists, cultural ambassadors, and everyday heroes who have inspired, encouraged, and helped bring each World Explorer book to life.
Just as pilots guide an aircraft safely across the skies, our Wingspan Pilots have helped guide our journey — sharing their knowledge, opening doors, preserving traditions, and reminding us why every culture has a story worth celebrating.
Each World Explorer book recognizes a special group of Wingspan Pilots whose influence helped shape that country's adventure. Their names appear on the book's product page as a tribute to the people whose wisdom, kindness, and encouragement made the journey possible.
Because every adventure is stronger when someone helps you spread your wings.
What's a Polyglotter (Polyglot)?
A polyglot is someone who can speak or use several languages. A "Polyglotter" is our playful name for a young explorer who is learning to speak the world — one word, one phrase, and one adventure at a time.
For young explorers:
A Polyglotter is a kid who loves learning words in lots of languages — like saying hello in Haitian Creole, counting in Korean, or singing in Spanish. Every new word is a passport stamp!
Ready? Ready!
Let’s explore the world—together.
